Coffee, Tea and Chocolate

Coffee, Tea and Chocolate

01 March 2012

Three of my very favorite things.  How could I help but think of them while I was putting this bracelet together?  Plus there's the fact that it wound up looking both highly caffeinated and thoroughly sugar-filled...

The chain and clasp are both 14 ct. gold-filled gold.  Little left-overs from another project that worked beautifully for this one.

SOLDIER Bracelet

SOLDIER Bracelet

26 January 2012

I come up with the most creative titles, don't I? I... am proud of this. Too proud. But it makes me so very happy. In case you did not know, this is the (modern/Compilation) version of the SOLDIER symbol. And SOLDIERs are--say it with me, folks--from Final Fantasy 7. And now it's a very shiny, very stylish bracelet. Stylish because I said so, of course.

For the most part, I'm not willing to think about how long this actually took. "A long time", as most beading projects will. What... insane devotion. But insane shiny devotion. So it's okay.

Available by commission, though I'm pondering a little design change.

Dancing Chocobo Cuff Bracelet

Dancing Chocobo Cuff Bracelet

26 January 2012

I took way, way too long figuring out how many beads were used here. 1,802 delicas, 6 "materia beads", and 1 random lovely purple glass bead. Many a four-letter word was uttered after. Then I poured myself a drink. But look upon the dancing chocobo cuff bracelet and be happy, for they are dancing chocobos!

Yeah, this is completely insane. But it started out so innocently with just one FF4 chocobo sprite... which became two... then six. Then I can't really explain what happened. The chocobos made me, I swear it. ...Anyway. I really like how the dark purple background turned out, which is good--I wasn't so sure at first. And of course, well... chocobos. This actually successfully combined three requests in one: 1.) beaded chocobos, 2.) sized for a larger wrist, and 3.) a metal-free clasp. Well, I feel successful.

Smiling Carbuncle Bracelet

Smiling Carbuncle Bracelet

26 January 2012

There is simply no way that you can look at a smiling Carbuncle and be sad. It's impossible. Carbuncles are nifty little critters/summons/GFs/things from the Final Fantasy series of games that actually aren't out to tear your face off. (Alright, fine, except in FFIII. But that has got to be a serious misunderstanding.) In fact, they can be incredibly adorable. And, as you can see, shiny!

In the middle of two more projects, I decided that I needed a little pick-me-up. This little guy definitely worked. I also decided that I wanted to experiment a little with materials, hence the yarn instead of my generally standard silk ribbon lacing. It goes perfectly with the playful little Carbuncle, don't you think? Alright, fine: there's a total of 1,152 beads here. Now I'm going to try and FORGET that, thanks.

OrgLIX Cuff

OrgLIX Cuff

26 January 2012

At last. I combined a beaded panel with a leather band and got a beaded cuff... while at the same time promoting my "little voice acting project", OrgLIX. It's either really sad or really brilliant but it took a really long time and a lot of work but I love it and I'm not selling it for it is mine. And I'm the only person I know with a wrist that skinny, so neener.

1,885 beads, by the way. That is how many were used to construct this single, tiny panel. I'm not sure I want to think about it much, either. But now I know what I'm capable of.

Demyx's Sitar Cuff

Demyx's Sitar Cuff

26 January 2012

You will click on the picture and you will appreciate this thing at full size. This is a do-over. I actually did this very design a long, long time ago when I was first curious about this "beading thing". I was proud at the time, sure, but the whole thing was such a mess. So, I finally did it over, simplifying the pattern just slightly, and I am completely happy with how it turned out. Whoot, I say. Whoot.

I love canon Demyx. And I adore OrgLIX Demyx. But there's a vicious little psychotic Demyx muse that will probably escape and commit acts of bad writing some day. Point being, I can't help but love that little rock star Nobody. Not to mention, his instrument amuses me for reasons that do not take too much imagination.

2,037 beads in total make up this cuff. I need to stop figuring the number of beads out, because it makes me cringe every time.

Chained Heartless Cuff

Chained Heartless Cuff

26 January 2012

I had the beaded Heartless panel hanging around, trying to decide what to do with it. The decision became a little too easy when I was getting some new chain put away. I'm just a punk bitch at heart (or no heart)--I should have seen it coming.

So, bigger beads this time. That makes the process a lot less painful, but still time-consuming. As for the design itself, the Heartless symbol is incredibly subtle--depending on the lighting. Sometimes you may not even realize its there, but when the red beads catch the light, it's blazing. Seems about right to me.

Heartless Bracelet

I thought... well, why not try the other pattern I'd been wanting to. It worked out quite nicely! Along with my new LCD flat screen monitor that makes editing pictures so, much much easier. Hopefully the different can be seen.

1,264 beads, again. Half the panels use plain silver-lined beads and the other half using silver-lined opal-effect beads, again. Somehow I just can't consider this boring, though.
