Well, I don't suppose I'd officially classify
these as "challenges". Maybe just... friendly suggestions.
And I'm not sure how many of them I'll be honoring in the future,
but... hey, it might be worth the suggestion. These were kinda
fun.
Merely playing with
sounds, and this came out. It's quite short but I enjoy it.
"Travel"
Date:
November 29, 2006
Genre: travel
It's...
"travelling music". Sort of haunted travelling music. As in
an almost perky running away from a situation that's just going to
follow you. ...Look, it made sense at the time.
"Celestial
Instinct"
Date:
May 13, 2006
Genre:background
Something with parts that should not go together.
Really, that's... all I can describe it as. The meaning
would take a lot longer.
Lyrics:
Shining lights and white
birds
Out of the corner of my eye
And I don't mind
And I don't mind
Are these little stone houses
Just a means to an end
"Second Time"
Date:
February 12, 2006
(just remembered to put it here toda, though)
Genre:
kinda
quiet
Was an experiment recording just with the computer.
I suppose it turned out okay.
Lyrics:
Oh please
For the sake of a second time
"Ah La La La"
Date:
April 14, 2006
Genre:
uh...
fun..?
It
just sorta happened. Sat down with my guitar, and this is what
came up... and the microphone was already set up, so I took advantage.
No voice filters or guitar effects at all (which might not be a
good thing in some areas... ah well). And you can hear me kicking
a coffee canister to the beat, which I did later add effects to,
because
it amused me. Heh.
Menu scrap
Date:
March 20, 2006
Genre: ...apocalyptic..?
So it's a really long menu loop, okay? Supposed
to be kind of "dark industrial" (alright, so that was a slight failure)
menu music for a video game. Well, I like it. Tried to
re-use some old things I never got around to adding elsewhere, too...
in
case you didn't already notice. Pretend that you didn't.
Kinda "fell off" that menu loop, above. Supposed
to be for the same game, only as a pause screen loop. Well, I
tried.
"Something you've never thought to do before."
That was the only suggesiton I got. So no, I have no idea
how "old detective movie" popped into my head, but it did. I
probably shouldn't admit how pleased I am with the result, even if it
makes me laugh every time I hear it.
