I finally got around to taking the pile of old CD/DVD-ROM drives apart, and this bit housing the laser right here just... spoke to me. So I developed a necklace around it while I was thinking about the form following the function. It's still exceptionally beautiful to me, if a little bit disconcerting; but that's part of the whole draw. There's something so aesthetically pleasing that goes beyond the functionality, and I hope I did some minimal framing of that with the wire and beads.
Not necessarily intended to go with the necklace are the Double Zap earrings, loosely inspired by the same kind of design.
